Lee Jeong-hwan and Moon Dong-hyun tied for second place
Seongjae Lim (CJ) won the Korea Professional Golf (KPGA) Tour ‘2024 Woori Finance Championship’ (total prize money of 1.5 billion won), achieving his second consecutive victory in the tournament.
Seongjae Lim hit 3 under par 69 with 5 birdies, 4 bogeys, and 1 double bogey in the fourth round on the last day of the tournament held at the Ferrum Club (par 72) in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province on the 28th.
Lim Seong-jae, who recorded a final total of 11 under par 277 strokes, beat Lee Jeong-hwan (Woori Financial Group), who was tied for second place with 10 under par 278 strokes, and amateur Moon Dong-hyun by one stroke, and received the championship trophy and prize money of 300 million won.
Lim Seong-jae, who finished second at the Genesis Championship in October last year, reached the top of the KPGA Tour for the third time in his career in a competition he played in six months.
After the game, Seongjae Lim said, “I started with a 3-putt bogey in the first hole, hole 1 (par 4). After that, short putt mistakes continued to occur. He thought that in the first half, he really didn’t play well and that it would be difficult to win. However, the second shot strategy in the 9th hole (par 5) was good. Afterwards, he caught a birdie and rode the trend by successfully scoring an eagle in the 12th hole (par 5) like last year. He looked back and said, “I think the good energy continued until the birdie on the last hole.”
Seongjae Lim, who won the Woori Financial Championship last year, won this competition for the second year in a row and successfully defended his title for the first time in his life.
Seongjae Lim smiled and said, “I wasn’t able to (defend the title) even on the PGA Tour. It definitely feels different.” “I want to create moments where I can defend my title on the PGA Tour in the future,” he said.

Lee Jung-hwan, who was aiming for his third career win in 5 years and 5 months since the Golfzon/DYB Education Tour Championship in November 2018, failed to reach the top as he finished at even par that day.
Jang Dong-gyu (Amazing Cree), who finished the third round in a joint lead with Lee Jung-hwan, aimed for his first win in 8 years and 8 months on this day, but ultimately failed. He lost one stroke and finished at 9 under par 279, finishing in 4th place.
Tae-hoon Ok (Geumgang Housing), Tae-ho Kim (LS), Do-yeop Moon (DB Insurance), and Lee Dong-min (Daeseon Casting) finished tied for 5th place with a score of 8 under par, 280 strokes.
Veteran Park Sang-hyun (Dong-A Pharmaceutical), who won 12 wins on the KPGA Tour, was tied for 12th place (5 under par, 283 strokes). Sangpil Yoon (Artes Hill), winner of this year’s opening match, tied for 53rd place (4 over par, 292 strokes).
