At least seven people have died in Morocco due to ingesting adulterated alcohol, as confirmed by the authorities, who have added that two people have been arrested in the city of Meknes (center) for their alleged involvement in the possession and sale of these drinks.

The Moroccan Police has indicated that the suspects are two men aged 67 and 17 whose identity has not been revealed, before adding that the arrests come as a result of an investigation after the death of seven people and the hospitalization of an eighth after ingesting a drink. alcoholic bought in a store.

Thus, the detainees are suspected of having sold these products, while the security forces have seized a dozen bottles in which this alcohol would have been stored, as reported by the Moroccan state news agency, MAP.

The Moroccan authorities confirmed in September 2022 the death of about twenty people and the hospitalization of eleven others for the consumption of adulterated alcohol in the town of Alcazarquivir, located about one hundred kilometers south of Tangier (north).
