Sex education among boys? In Italy it would be time to start

by time news

L’Atlas europeo 2020, which measured access to contraception in 45 European states, said 89% of boys and 84% of girls search online for information on sexual and reproductive health. In Italy there is still a total lack of information on the sphere of sexuality in school programs. Like us, in Europe

only Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Lithuania. Furthermore, 68% of boys and 76% of girls never went to a clinic.

Therefore, correct information at all ages is essential for a safe affective sphere and above all for the protection of female health. Social media and the web can provide simple information, but not always correct. This is why it continues to be important to involve the women as Bayer is doing, which for over 60 years has played a leading role in research in favor of women’s health.

After the path of recent years with the My Contraception information campaign, this year Bayer continues its dialogue with women, creating an open “place” on social media, to deepen and share knowledge and experiences,

The goal is to exploit the increasingly evolved potential and the ever-growing public of Instagram to deepen the most interesting issues relating to sexuality and contraception through posts, reels and social media and thus offering a real literacy tool on the subject.

@PuntoGine is the Instagram profile created to dispel myths, reassure, and speak about them freely with a simple and immediate language, like the alphabet. For this reason Bayer launches the 2021 campaign “Love letters: contraception from A to Z”. Each letter will be a topic of discussion and study that the team of gynecologists will launch to the followers, from the A of “Love” to the Z of “Zero risks”, passing through the G of “Pregnancy”, the O of “Ovulation”, to the U of “Utero” and so on.

A communication campaign that will give young people the opportunity to interact from home with “the gynecologist friend”, who is always confirmed as one of the reference points for the health of the female public. An original experiment carried out for the first time in Italy in the field of contraception.

Instagram, with its great visual impact, it is the ideal place for this type of information, allowing you to get to the bottom of discussion topics with editorial content of different types. With the new Instagram page @PuntoGine, Bayer confirms itself to be increasingly attentive to the needs of women and listening to her constantly evolving needs:“Over the past 60 years Bayer has consistently led innovation in contraception and, among its future goals, has set itself that of facilitating access to modern contraception by 2030 for 100 million women in low and middle income countries. This year we are very proud to have given birth to PuntoGine, and for the first time in this field, we have transformed a pool of young gynecologists into contraception influencers. An unprecedented experiment that with great teamwork and thanks to an innovative approach makes us pioneers in this sector too. ” says Nordio Sandrin, Bayer’s General Medicine Business Unit Head.
