While the incident in which the doctor was involved in sexually assaulting the woman who came to take the scan has come as a shock, the fact that he has now been suspended has caused a stir.
Radiologist Chakravarthy told the girl, who had recently come to the government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai for a scan, to come for an examination the next day.
The next day, Dr. Chakraborty told the woman to leave, leaving him alone in the scan room, and to accompany his mother and the nurse who worked there.
He allegedly sexually assaulted the woman, saying she was being tested. Realizing this, the girl immediately came out of the room and told her mother and cried. The shocked mother and she went to the department’s chief doctor and complained about it without informing anyone there.
Upon hearing this, the head of the department, Dean Rathinavelu, complained and he immediately ordered an inquiry committee to be set up to investigate. The complaint against Dr. Emperor was confirmed to be true. He has since been suspended.
