In the state of Uttar Pradesh, a 30-year-old woman who was sexually assaulted by her stepson, her husband and her husband’s friends has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu seeking permission to die by euthanasia.
According to media reports, the victim married a 55-year-old farmer in Chandigarh after 3 years of divorce from her first husband. But there, it is said from the victim’s side that she was sexually assaulted by her stepson, her husband and her husband’s friends.
Later this was reported to Buranpur police station but no action was taken against the accused, the victim approached the court. After that, the court has ordered to register a case in this matter. However, it is said that even after the court order, no further action was taken by the police.
In this situation, the victim said, “I have lost faith in justice. Police did not arrest any of the accused named in the FIR registered at Puranpur Kotwali police station on October 9, despite the court’s order. They force me not to speak. Also, they threaten to face dire consequences.
