The Youth District Court in Be’er Sheva today (Wednesday) sentenced a 17-year-old resident of the Negev to five years in prison for a number of offenses, including breaking into a residence, theft, as well as sodomy and an indecent act towards a minor, without her free consent, in her parents’ home. He was convicted as part of a plea deal, of committing sexual offenses against a girl, when the prosecution sought to sentence him to seven years in prison.
According to the facts of the indictment, which was submitted through attorney Ira Weiman Krikon, the accused arrived in the dead of night, along with two others, one of them a 16-year-old minor, to a settlement in the south of Israel. The 17-year-old and the minor broke into one of the houses in the settlement, while the members of the household were sleeping in their rooms , while the older partner was left to wait for them in the car. The two looked for valuables in the living room of the house and after finding keys to a car parked next to the house they left the house and looked for valuables inside the car as well. After finding nothing, they went back into the house and continued their search.
The indictment states that at some point, the defendant entered one of the bedrooms where a 10-year-old girl and her younger siblings were sleeping at the time. He lay down next to her, when she was awake at the time, biting and licking her face. The girl asked him to explain his actions and asked him to leave her, but despite this, the accused performed a sodomy act on her. After she screamed and called her father, the two ran away from the house, taking about NIS 50 and various toys from the house. The second minor accused threw away the toys during the escape and fled the scene in a car together with the adult accomplice.
The prosecution asked for the continuation of the defendant’s arrest upon completion of the legal proceedings against him. In the arrest request, it was stated that the accused and his two accomplices are simultaneously being indicted by the police for numerous property crimes.
