New Delhi – In a surprising turn of events, Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan seem to have buried their differences as the latter congratulated Deol on the success of his latest film, Gadar 2. During a recent interview with Times Now, Sunny Deol revealed that SRK reached out to him to extend his wishes and appreciation for Gadar 2.
“He had seen this film and before that, he called me up and wished me. He was so happy and told me that I genuinely deserve it,” said Sunny Deol, expressing his gratitude towards Shah Rukh Khan. Deol further disclosed that he also had a conversation with SRK’s wife, Gauri Khan, who informed him that they planned to watch the film together. After the viewing, SRK took to social media to express his admiration.
Shah Rukh Khan, who had previously shared screen space with Sunny Deol in the iconic 1993 film Darr, spontaneously gave a shout-out to Gadar 2 on the platform X (formerly known as Twitter). During an #ASKSRK session, a user asked, “Did you watch Gadar 2?” To this, Khan replied, “Yeah loved it.”
Sunny Deol also touched upon the evolution of his relationship with Shah Rukh Khan, emphasizing the importance of moving forward from past issues. Reflecting on their fallout during the shooting of Darr, where he disagreed with the portrayal of his character in the climax, Deol believes that time has healed their relationship. In an old episode of Aap Ki Adalat, Deol clarified that their lack of communication was primarily due to his personal preference of not socializing much.
“It’s not that I didn’t talk, but I just cut myself off, and I anyway don’t socialize much. So we never met, toh baat karne ki baat hi nahi hai,” said Sunny Deol in the interview.
It is worth noting that in 2017, Shah Rukh Khan had previously extended his support and well wishes to Sunny Deol’s son, Karan Deol, who made his Bollywood debut at the time. SRK took to X to write, “All the best papa. He looks as tough and gentle as you. May all good things come his way.”
This unexpected reunion between Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan has left fans excited and hopeful for future collaborations. With their past conflicts seemingly put behind them, it remains to be seen if these Bollywood icons will work together again in the future.
