The USA Cricket Board appointed Law mainly with the World Cup in mind. T20 World Cup will be held next June. The United States is co-hosting this year’s World Cup with the West Indies. The team has already started preparing itself to do well on its own ground.

Law first took over as head coach in Bangladesh in 2011. Before that, he worked as an assistant coach of Sri Lanka in 2009. Then he worked with West Indies in 2017-18 on a 2-year contract. After working as interim coach of Afghanistan in 2022, he got the responsibility of head coach of Bangladesh U-19 team.
The assignment of this former coach of Bangladesh will start with the series against Bangladesh. The Tigers will play a three-match T20I series in the United States to prepare for the World Cup. The matches of the series will be played at the Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston, Texas. The first match of the series will be played on May 21, the second match on May 23 and the third and final match on May 25.
