Ambassador with special assignments Edmon Marukyan made a note in X, commenting on the speech of the Ukrainian deputy Alexey Goncharenko at the PACE, during the discussion of the ratification of the powers of the Azerbaijani delegation.
“Back in 2021, as a member of the PACE delegation, I gave a speech about the notorious Razmavari Park in Azerbaijan, where the Azerbaijani regime had placed mannequins of Armenian prisoners of war.
When I presented the war crimes committed by Azerbaijan in my speech, Ukrainian deputy Alexei Goncharenko complained to the chairman of the session that he allowed me to speak with posters and did not allow him to do the same. This protest action ended with the fact that the PACE president asked him to leave the meeting hall.
It is interesting how he demands justice from the world for Ukraine, when he does not want to see the same justice for Nagorno Karabakh, thousands of ethnically cleansed residents and prisoners of war held illegally in Azerbaijan. Shame on you, Goncharenko, when I come to Strasbourg, make sure you don’t see me, your speech made me uncomfortable,” wrote Edmon Marukyan.
