/ The managing director of the Iraqi Olympic football team, Jabbar Hashem, announced on Sunday that the trial match with the police team will be closed to the media and the public for technical reasons.
Hashem told Agency, “The technical staff of the Olympic team, led by coach Radhi Shanishil, decided that the team’s match with the Police Club team, which will be held this evening, will be closed to all media and the public for purely technical reasons.”
He stated that “the coaching staff believes that this decision is appropriate and serves the national team’s journey in its next Asian mission.”
The Iraqi Olympic team will meet Al-Shorta Club, runner-up in the Iraq Stars League, at nine-thirty at night at Al-Minaa Stadium, in a trial match for both teams in preparation for the upcoming competitions.
The Olympic team will be camping in Basra Governorate from March 16 to March 27, in preparation for the Asian qualifying finals for the Paris 2024 Olympics, which will be held in mid-April in the State of Qatar.
The draw placed the Iraqi Olympic team under 23 years in the third group, along with Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Tajikistan.
