Former Pakistan pacer, Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtar has been suffering from knee pain for a long time. For that he was currently undergoing surgery in Australia.
‘I’m in pain, please pray for me,’ asks fans as he undergoes knee surgery in Melbourne
In a video released by him in this regard, he said, “I could have played for Pakistan for 4-5 more years but if I had, I would have been a miserable person who would have to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. That’s why I retired from cricket.
But that alone is worth doing for Pakistan. Throwing too fast can result in bone loss. But that’s okay. It seems that it doesn’t matter if we lose our bones for Pakistan again,” he said.
He said in the video that he has been in pain for the past 11 years. Even after retirement he says the knee pain is terrible. This is the price we pay for fast bowling, says Akhtar. He also said that he was in a lot of pain and asked his fans to pray for him.
