Shooting at motorsport event leaves 10 dead and 9 injured in Mexico – 05/21/2023

At least 10 people were killed and nine others were injured during a shootout at a motorsport event in Mexico on Saturday (20).

What happened

• Gunmen got out of a dark-colored pickup truck and shot at several people. in San Vicente, Baja California area, in the city of de Ensenada.
• The victims would participate in an automobile event called “Cachanillazo”. Some of the victims died inside their vehicles.
• City, state, and federal law enforcement officers attend the scene. The Fire Department and members of the Mexican Red Cross were also called in to help the victims.
• Mayor Armando Ayala Robles said Attorney General Ricardo Ivan Carpio Sanchez created a special group to investigate the motive for the shooting.
