Shooting at Sikh Gurudwara in US: 2 injured

California: Two people were injured in a shooting incident at a Sikh shrine in California, USA. The incident took place in Sacramento, California. The police have registered a case and are investigating in this regard.

In this regard, the Sacramento County Sheriff said, “The incident occurred due to hatred between two individuals. Both of the gunshot victims are in critical condition. Therefore, it is determined that this was not a hate crime.”

Some of the expatriate Punjabis are trying to separate the Indian state of Punjab and create a separate country called Khalistan. Amritpal Singh was active in their support in India. He fled when the police tried to arrest him recently in connection with cases against him, a Sikh priest. The search for him is ongoing.

Following the action against Amritpal Singh, Khalistan supporters abroad staged protests against India. These protests were held in countries including Canada, USA and England.

However, in the context of the shooting at a Sikh Gurudwara in the United States, it has been confirmed that it is not a hate crime but a personal issue.
