PSYCHOLOGY – Secret gifts between colleagues, ugly sweaters, a glass of champagne… Some love celebrating Christmas at the office while others avoid like the plague these moments that they consider fake.
At the beginning of December, you received this email. The same as every year. Which you were happy about, or which made you groan more or less internally. A “Secret Santa” is organized at the office… The principle? Each employee offers another, drawn at random, a gift of low value (generally between 5 and 10 euros). Opening gifts at the foot of the tree is the occasion for more or less elaborate feasts where everyone wears their favorite ugly Christmas sweater.
For some, it is a joyful and friendly moment. For others, it is the illustration of what the “team building» can conceive worse… “Ah yes, I have to think about buying a gift”says the enthusiast upon receiving the email or reading the poster stuck to the wall of the break room. “So there it will be without me!”retorts the complainer. “Too bad I installed an RTT…”, ventures the hypocrite.
