The International Cricket Council (ICC) annually selects and awards the best player. ICC The nominees are chosen based on the votes cast by the committee and the fans who are entitled to vote for the award.
India’s middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer has been selected for last month’s (February) Player of the Year award. He has overtaken United Arab Emirates’ Vrudia Arvind and Nepal’s Dipendra Singh to clinch the award.
The 27-year-old Shreyas has consistently scored runs in ODIs, the 20-over series and the 20-over series against Sri Lanka against the West Indies last month.
