Shyam Mohan is an actor who entered Malayalam cinema through web series. Shyam gained much attention through the web series on YouTube channel Ponmuta. Later, the actor has done character roles in movies. AD Shyam’s latest film is Premalu directed by Girish. Shyam plays the role of Adi in the film, which stars Nazlin and Mamita.
In an interview with the Unfiltered podcast, the actor spoke about his relationship with cinema. Shyam said that his mother was a drama artiste and acted in serials on Doordarshan. Shyam says that Thilakan’s wife in the movie Kilukum was his mother and he acted in that movie.
‘My mother was a drama artiste. Whenever I was not in school, I used to go with my mother on the drama wagon and camp. Mother passed away. Similarly, Amma was in the serial on Doordarshan. Amma has acted as Thilakan’s wife in Kilukum. I have also acted in Kilukum.
At the end, Tilak’s family doesn’t come, I am the one who ate biscuits in that one scene. Therefore, most of the time I was in the rehearsal camp or theater van. The acting was somewhere inside. When I went to Bombay looking for a job, I was not satisfied with a corporate job. Worked in Citibank.
One day suddenly decided to resign. There was a terrible explosion in the house. Uncle was looking after all my affairs. ‘What are you going to do’ was asked. I didn’t know what to do. And after getting into acting, that’s the same thought for 24 hours. Being a star is not about doing good films,’ said Shyam Mohan.
