SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami said in a press conference that the Sikh community has been wrongly portrayed in films in the past as well, which has hurt their sentiments. It requested an immediate ban and also demanded the inclusion of Sikh members in the Censor Board.

Akal Takht’s Ragbir Singh also objected to the film, saying that the film has deliberately portrayed Sikhs as separatists, which is part of a deep conspiracy and Kangana Ranaut’s film insults the Sikh community.

It should be noted that Kangana Ranaut had announced the film ‘Emergency’ in 2021 and clarified that this film is a political drama, the film will finally hit the theaters on September 6 after several postponements.
