# Double-Decker Bus Collision in Jurong West Injures 44, Inquiry Underway

Eyewitness accounts paint a picture of a chaotic scene. one resident, Madam Gao, 63, described seeing injured passengers being attended to near a local HDB block. “I saw three passengers being helped,” she recounted. “Two were lying on the grass, and another was near the pavilion.” Other witnesses, including Madam Rosie Lian, 71, and Madam Peh Li, 72, reported hearing a loud crash and observing multiple individuals with visible injuries, ranging from nosebleeds to facial wounds.
The impact of the collision was significant, with substantial damage to both buses. Photos from the scene reveal a shattered windscreen on one vehicle and extensive damage to the rear of the other. At least three police cars, two ambulances, two SCDF vehicles, and two tow trucks were present at the accident site.
Mr. Wu, the son of a 70-year-old woman who was a passenger on bus service 98, shared that his mother was seated on the lower deck and sustained bruises and lacerations when the buses collided. Fortunately, she has since been discharged from the hospital.
