Singer MC Mong is responding to allegations of an extramarital affair with Cha Ga Won, the chairperson of his former agency, One Hundred.
The controversy erupted on December 24, KST, when a media outlet published a series of KakaoTalk conversations allegedly between MC Mong and Cha, hinting at a years-long improper relationship. The outlet also reported that Cha had provided MC Mong with ₩12.0 billion KRW (approximately $8.11 million USD) and routinely gifted him expensive items.

Responding swiftly on the same day, MC Mong took to social media to address the claims. He threatened legal action against the outlet, as well as Cha’s relative, Cha Mo, who he alleged was the source of the KakaoTalk screenshots. However, the singer maintained that the messages were intentionally fabricated.
MC Mong firmly denied any improper relationship with Cha, stating he was currently in a committed relationship. He explained his departure from One Hundred, saying, “I left because I feared that a risky producer like me would harm One Hundred.”
One Hundred corroborated MC Mong’s account, offering a detailed explanation of the events.
MC Mong was threatened by A (Cha Mo), a relative of Chairman Cha Ga Won, and the messages were fabricated and sent under duress…A was attempting to seize control of Big Planet Made, a label under One Hundred, and was threatening MC Mong to force him to sell his shares. The label stated that MC Mong had contacted them after the report surfaced and apologized to the company. Both the singer and his former label, One Hundred, announced their intention to pursue legal action against the outlet and Cha.
MC Mong and Cha Ga Won jointly founded One Hundred through investment in 2023. The company subsequently expanded by acquiring music labels including Big Planet Made Entertainment, Million Market, and INB100. MC Mong departed the label in June, and the following month announced a move abroad, citing severe depression and health concerns.
