Shiro Unveils Sustainable Pop-Up Experience at The Hyundai Seoul, Expands Korean Footprint

A new pop-up store from natural beauty brand Shiro is prioritizing sustainability and experiential retail as it seeks to deepen its connection with Korean consumers. The “Siro The Hyundai Seoul Pop-up Store” will operate on the second basement level of The Hyundai Seoul department store from December 11th to 17th.
A Commitment to Circularity in Retail
The pop-up distinguishes itself through a strong emphasis on sustainable practices, moving beyond the typical short-term nature of such events. Unlike conventional temporary installations, the store’s furniture and interior design are constructed almost entirely from recycled waste materials. A company release stated that materials will even be returned to their original owners following the pop-up’s conclusion, minimizing environmental impact.
Shiro demonstrated a resourceful approach to material sourcing, collecting discarded wooden packaging and pallets from the Euljiro Printing Office area. These materials were repurposed into functional inventory storage boxes and stylish counters. Similarly, scrap steel materials and molds sourced from the Mullae-dong ironworks were creatively utilized as handles for storage boxes and as tops for furniture pieces. Even the paint used for finishing touches was environmentally conscious; leftover paint from a painting company and containers slated for disposal were employed, with some paint containers recycled from the brand’s “Shiro Seongsu” store construction in April.
Expanding Market Presence in Korea
This pop-up represents the latest step in Shiro’s strategic expansion within the Korean market. The brand first established a presence with its flagship store in Seongsu last April, followed by the opening of a location in Lotte World Mall in Jamsil on December 9th. According to one analyst, the pop-up is a deliberate effort to broaden consumer engagement and communicate the brand’s core philosophy through an immersive retail experience.
Exclusive Product Launch
To coincide with the pop-up’s opening, Shiro will release three new products featuring a Korea-exclusive scent, ‘Lily of the Valley’. The collection includes a 10mL Lily of the Valley Eau de Parfum, a complementary body mist, and a nourishing hand serum. These products will initially be available exclusively at The Hyundai Seoul during the pop-up’s operating period, before becoming available at the Shiro Seongsu store, Lotte World Mall, and the Naver Brand Store.
This strategic rollout underscores Shiro’s commitment to both localized product offerings and a multi-channel distribution strategy within the competitive Korean beauty market.
