Minister of Health of the province, doctor Luis Medina Ruizin charge of a new situation room where the epidemiological situation of Tucumán was analyzed in terms of dengue.

On the occasion, the Minister reported that a slight decrease in cases and a slightly lower plateau is being observed, with about a thousand daily cases of fever per garda:

“The waiting rooms are already more decompressed and with more patient flows. We reported about 3,700 cases for the previous week, and another 6,000 were added from the previous weeks. This reduction is not significant so we should not be too confident. We must consult quickly if we notice symptoms compatible with dengue. Those who are unable to hydrate themselves should consult for timely treatment with parenteral hydration. The other serious complication of this condition is hemorrhage, and this should also be consulted.”

For her part, the director Epidemiology, doctor Romina Cuezzo, said that the total notification of the province is 39,382 cases, but that the worst moment has been passed and a decrease has been observed in the last few weeks. “However, we still have a high number of active cases, therefore, we are still alert to high viral circulation. Certain departments, such as the capital, Cruz Alta and Yerba Buena, were the most affected. It is important to maintain preventive measures,” he said.

The Directorate of Epidemiology reports the death of two female patients. The percentage of people with severe symptoms is not very high for this pathology, but there is the possibility that some may have severe symptoms, depending on the immune response, and even death. In this sense, the importance of controlling warning signs is reinforced.
