Slipknot Faces Fan Backlash After Adding Marilyn Manson to Stadium Tour

Heavy metal band Slipknot has faced criticism from fans after announcing Marilyn Manson as a support act for its upcoming world tour. Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, is scheduled to join the masked metal group for its shows at London’s Wembley Stadium and several dates on the South American leg of the tour beginning next July. Others defended the booking, pointing to the significant overlap between the two artists’ fan bases.

(sic)est Stadium Tour Line-up and Fan Reactions

Slipknot fans have hit out at the band’s decision to recruit Marilyn Manson as support for dates on their newly announced 2027 ‘(sic)est Stadium Tour’. The masked metal band announced the huge run yesterday (September 28), with their only UK and European show set to take place at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 3, 2027. Manson will appear alongside Lorna Shore and Hatebreed as support at Wembley, before he and Hatebreed rejoin Slipknot for dates in South America in September. The decision has been met with criticism from some fans in light of the numerous allegations of sexual and domestic abuse that have been made against Manson, real name Brian Warner, all of which he has denied. Thousands of comments were left under an Instagram post announcing the Wembley line-up, with some long-time Slipknot followers saying Manson’s involvement would prevent them from buying tickets. Would’ve loved to see this but there’s literally nothing you could do to get my cash in Manson’s pockets, one fan wrote. Another described the booking as such a disappointment and said they would no longer attend, while others called the decision “disappointing”. Some fans welcomed Manson’s inclusion, with one pointing to the huge fanbase overlap between the two acts and calling him a “perfect sup”

Following Monday’s tour announcement, numerous fans took to social media to voice their displeasure over Manson’s inclusion on the bill, with some stating that they would no longer attend the shows. Why you are offering support to someone as vile as Manson is beyond me. So disgusting. Anyone going and supporting this is a weirdo.— Emily (@EmilyG_____) September 28, 2026 The criticism largely stems from allegations of sexual assault, domestic violence and other forms of abuse that have been made against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, by multiple women in recent years.

Evan Rachel Wood Accusations and Defamation Lawsuit

Actor Evan Rachel Wood publicly named Manson as her alleged abuser in 2021, after which several other women came forward with allegations of their own. Actress Evan Rachel Wood, who was in a relationship with Manson from 2007, publicly accused him in 2021 of having horrifically abused and “manipulatedher. Manson, 57, has denied allegations of abuse against him. He rejected Wood's claims at the time ashorrible distortions of reality, saying his relationships hadalways been entirely consensual.” Several other women subsequently made allegations against the musician. Manson later sued Wood and another woman for defamation, accusing them of impersonating FBI agents and forging federal documents. A judge dismissed parts of the lawsuit before Manson eventually settled the case in 2024 and agreed to pay Wood’s legal fees.

Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Investigation

Los Angeles prosecutors last year announced that Manson would not face criminal charges following a four-year investigation into allegations of domestic abuse and sexual assault involving multiple women. The district attorney’s office said potential domestic violence charges fell outside the statute of limitations and that prosecutors could not prove sexual assault charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
