“We gave people pride”underlined Sochaux coach Oswald Tanchot despite the heavy defeat against Rennes (6-1) on Tuesday in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. “This audience is extraordinary,” breathed Tanchot after the meeting. He deserves to be saluted and I’m happy that Julien Stéphan (the coach of Rennes, Editor’s note) did it. It’s a real advertisement for the values of the Coupe de France.”
Back with his players in the locker room, Tanchot wanted to encourage his men for the rise to Ligue 2. “Have you seen what’s in the stands? (…) People really deserve it, I’m moved this evening. We can’t leave this club here, we all have a mission.”
