In the Météo district, in the urban commune of Kankan, the Islamic center is serving as a setting for a seminar of Islamic associations. For three days, starting this Saturday when the activities were launched, imams and other religious leaders will discuss issues of strengthening the social fabric and social cohesion in the greater Nabaya. Djiba Sidibé is the regional coordinator of Islamic associations in Kankan: “the objective of this seminar is to strengthen the social fabric and cohesion. During this seminar, we will train imams, preachers, preachers, and those responsible for resolving ancestral conflicts. The seminar is organized by all the Islamic associations in the Kankan region. In practice, we have 1,500 imams to train this year.”

This seminar of Islamic associations is in its 4th edition this year, and its theme is “attention to vulnerable people”. A way of reminding everyone that the protection of women and vulnerable people is everyone’s business. Hence the presence this morning of the regional inspector for the Promotion of Women, Children and Vulnerable People of Kankan, Hadja Aminata Bérété, who declared on this occasion: “Vulnerable people should not think that they are marginalized, it is not because we are disabled that we are vulnerable. There are disabled people who are richer than people who are not. We have the same rights and they should not feel vulnerable. If I see an association or a conference in this sense, I will only be welcome.”

Seminar participants will be asked to reflect what they have received in their sermons and religious preaching.
