Director Alexander Sokurov, whose new film “Fairy Tale” had previously failed to obtain a distribution certificate in Russia, said that he had decided to end his professional career. According to him, the reason was obstacles in work. “I won’t be able to shoot and show films in Russia,” – stated Sokurov News.ru.

He emphasized that his career “has ended because of this ban and refusal of distribution.”

In a conversation with RBC Sokurov reportedthat he does not see any prospects for working abroad, because he considers such a way out of the situation unfair.

“Why should I realize my potential abroad?” said the director. “Why should I leave, and not them?”
