LE FIGARO.- Should we be happy with the results of COP27?

Rémy RIOUX.- It was expected that this COP27, in Africa, places at the heart of the discussions the most vulnerable countries, those which are most affected by climate change, without being responsible for it. As such, this meeting is a great success for them, with the creation of a “loss and damage” fund. The other results, on the other hand, are insufficient, in particular on the ambition (reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, Editor’s note) and the exit from fossil fuels. Fortunately, the Paris Agreement remains a solid framework for making an annual update and relieving pressure.
