Sony announces the release date of the next version PS VR2 on the market

by time news

The Japanese company Sony revealed, through its account on the Instagram platform (Monday, August 22, 2022), that the next version of the virtual reality glasses based on the PS VR2 console will not arrive until “early 2023”.

The Japanese company’s announcement comes nearly six years after the version debuted in 2016.

The company debuted the new devices, which include updated eyeglasses and revamped consoles, in February. The PS VR2 has been designed to better match the design of the PS5 and is said to offer live streaming capabilities and cinematic mode.

According to the PlayStation blog last month, the new setting will work at a resolution of 4000 x 2040 (2000 x 2040 per eye) at 90/120 Hz while the “Vision Mode” safety feature will prevent stray players from wandering too far in a virtual field, similar to what the Meta offers with Quest Guardian.
