Sony confirmed the launch of a streaming application for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, called Sony Pictures Core. This platform promises to give users access to the content owned by the production company, such as Spider-Man or movies, bands in video games such as Gran Turismo.
In general, the app has the option to buy or rent up to 2,000 movies ranging from recent releases to film classics, so it is a change in name and focus from the previous platform called Bravia Core, which previously allowed users of Bravia TVs and Xperia devices enjoy these movies.
The catalog of productions available in Sony Pictures Core ranges from options such as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Uncharted, to classic gems such as Looper, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, and Resident Evil Damnation.
One of the features of the application is the possibility of accessing an exclusivity period for some Sony Pictures films. This means that in exclusives like the UK, France, Germany and Japan, PlayStation users will be able to purchase these movies before anyone else.
The first film to have this exclusivity will be Gran Turismo, a production that tells the story of a player who, thanks to his talent, was able to bring virtual driving to the real world and become a professional driver.

The PlayStation gaming community faces a new threat to the security of their data. A ransomware group calling itself Ransomed.vc claimed to have compromised all of Sony’s systems, including players’ personal information.
In a statement, cybercriminals reported that they attacked Sony systems and have a high capacity of data to sell. “We will not rescue them! We will sell the data. Because Sony doesn’t want to pay. THE DATA IS FOR SALE,” the group published in the announcement.
Although these claims have not yet been supported by confirmed evidence, Cyber Security Connect has reported that the group has shared some evidence of its attack and that this already raises a major alert.
The evidence includes screenshots of an internal login page, an internal PowerPoint presentation, several Java files, and a folder that appears to contain fewer than 6,000 files.
In response to this situation, Sony informed IGN that it is investigating the incident. However, the company has not provided additional comments so far, so it is not known if they have already managed to detect the threat or if they have already contacted the attackers to resolve the situation.
