Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Police Day, in which it is stated:
“Dear officers of the Police of the Republic of Armenia,
On behalf of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs and myself, I congratulate all the police personnel on the occasion of the professional holiday.
The police has always been and is still at the forefront of ensuring public order and fighting crime.
Today, the safety and security of our citizens also and especially depends on each of you.
A citizen should have a high sense of trust when interacting with the police, and there is no alternative to this. It is your daily compassionate, dedicated work that should ensure the existence of this atmosphere within the framework of the society-police dialogue.
The goal of the police reforms is the transformation of the police, which is capable of facing modern challenges, specialized and technically equipped, polite and worthy of respect, which is characteristic of a democratic legal system. We walk this path with honor, determination and consistency.
The establishment of the patrol service was the first step to achieve this goal, within the framework of which experienced police officers and civilians came together to provide a new breath, a new quality of service to law, order and our society.
According to this principle, the new police will develop in 4 pillars: criminal police, patrol service, community police and police guard. In the near future, the new police certification system will also be launched, which will allow to significantly improve the life of the policeman providing service to the citizen 24 hours a day, as well as the package of social guarantees.
I would like to emphasize especially the involvement of women in police work, which proves our commitment to the principle of equal rights and full participation of women and men in all spheres and brings and will bring a completely new quality to police activity.
I am sure that these processes will continue in full, and thanks to the efforts and compassion of all of us, we will soon have the Police, which will be able to fully fulfill all the tasks assigned to it.
Thousands of policemen have given their unfailing service to the realization of that goal in the decades of existence of sovereign Armenia.
For that purpose, hundreds of police officers sacrificed their lives in battles for the defense of the Motherland and while performing their duty.
Eternal glory and deep respect to the bright memory of our comrades in arms.
Dear servants,
Once again, I congratulate you all on the occasion of the professional holiday.
I congratulate our beloved veterans and wish them many years of peace and prosperity.
I congratulate the police families, whose love and expectation give strength to the policeman to fulfill his service to the fullest, who are the primary link that feels the complexity and heaviness of the policeman’s work.
I wish you all a dignified and trouble-free service.”
