The employees of the Sotki gold mine continue to keep the highway and railway leading to the mine closed, according to Taguhi Tovmasyan, a member of the National Assembly.

“The employees of the mine appealed to me, complaining that they have been receiving incomplete salaries for several months, and they were informed that due to the decrease in the volume of extraction, it is not possible for them to receive salaries in the previous amount.

Employees only find out at the end of the month how much salary they will receive. Moreover, 4-5 times less than the previous salary. Yesterday, they met with General Director of “GeoProMining Gold” LLC Anatoly Gogotin, who listened to the demands of the employees, but unfortunately the problem was not resolved.

Today, the employees contacted me again, who specifically mentioned that they hoped the problem would be resolved, but it still hasn’t been resolved, and they are offended. The employees of the mine add that along with their daily family expenses, they have loans that they face serious problems in fulfilling their repayment obligations and, of course, they could not have predicted before taking the loans that they would face such a problem through no fault of their own.

Understanding, of course, the difficulties existing in the post-war phase, I expect from all relevant circles that have any lever of support to prioritize the problem, the question of supporting our compatriots who are in a difficult situation.

We are obliged to stand under the direct gaze of the enemy, next to our compatriots working a few meters away from them. Please don’t ignore them.

P.S. As I have warned many times, about 300 employees of the mine have been laid off, as most of the mine area is under Azerbaijani control,” said the deputy.
