Doha: A.S. organized by Sol Qatar. Feroze and Dhanraj Memorial All India Sevens Football Tournament gets off to a rousing start.
The group knockout matches were completed on Thursday and Friday at the Hamilton International School ground in Misaimir, Doha. Ali International FC, Friday FC, Ole FC and Flywell Tours teams entered the semi-finals.
In the first match of Group B, Ole FC progressed by beating Orbit FC 4-2. In another match, Flywell Tours Qatar FC advanced by beating Universal FC 3-0. Ali International defeated Kadapuram FC 2-1 in Thursday’s matches to advance to the semi-finals.
In the second leg, Friday FC beat HRMCFC 5-3 in a penalty shootout. The semi-finals and finals are next week. Former Indian captain I.M. Vijayan will be the chief guest.
In the ceremony held on Thursday, Indian Sports Center President Dr. Mohan Thomas inaugurated the tournament.
