Soulja Boy Revives Feud with DDG, Questions Rapper’s Recent Success and Personal Life
A long-simmering rivalry has reignited between rappers Soulja Boy and DDG, with the “Crank That” artist launching a scathing attack on the younger rapper on social media, questioning his accomplishments and bringing personal matters into the public sphere.
The dispute, which has flared up intermittently since 2024, escalated on Thursday, January 1, when Soulja Boy took to Instagram Live to address DDG directly. The core of his argument centers on a claim that DDG owes his career trajectory to Soulja Boy’s pioneering success.
During the livestream, Soulja Boy directly questioned DDG’s family life, referencing the rapper’s recent custody battle with singer Halle Bailey, which was settled in October. “When is the last time you seen your kid?” Soulja Boy asked, continuing, “You done lost your baby mama. You can’t even see your son.”
The “Big Draco” creator extended a warning to Rich The Kid, suggesting potential repercussions for associating with DDG and, seemingly, Blueface. “You stand over there with them boys again, you know what’s going on. You stand with them, you gon’ lay with them, n**ga,” he stated.
Soulja Boy emphasized his own groundbreaking achievements, asserting he was the first artist to be “signed off YouTube.” He told DDG, “If it weren’t for me, you would be working at McDonald’s, fk nga, wrapping up Big Macs and st like that.” He further demanded respect, stating, “I don’t give a fk if it was 100 years ago… I’ll talk about this s**t forever ‘cause I did that… 16 years old, No. 1 song in the world, written [and] produced by me.”
The latest volley appears to be a response to comments made by DDG during a recent livestream, where he seemingly criticized Soulja Boy’s continued reliance on past successes. According to reports, DDG stated, “That one nga that made that dancing song when I was a kid, man, you gotta do something now, bruh. You gotta stop living in the past… We don’t give a fk about what you sold when you was 12. Who are you now?”
This is not the first time the two artists have publicly clashed. In 2024, Soulja Boy threatened DDG following allegations of physical abuse made by Bailey, who filed a restraining order against the rapper. While the situation did not escalate to physical confrontation, the history of animosity suggests a continued potential for conflict.
Observers will be watching closely to see if this latest exchange leads to further escalation in 2026.
