BCCI President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly has been appointed chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket Committee. Ganguly has been appointed chairman of the cricket committee to replace former Indian cricketer and coach Anil Kumble.

The ICC has appointed BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to the post following the resignation of Anil Kumble. ICC Chairman Greg Barclay said he was delighted to welcome Sourav to the post of ICC Men’s Cricket Committee Chair.

Sourav Ganguly is one of the greatest captains of all time in the history of Indian cricket. Ganguly was the President of the Bengal Cricket Association from 2015 to 2019. He took over as BCCI President in October 2019.

The term of office of the Chairman of the Cricket Committee is three years. Anil Kumble has resigned following a three-year term. Crucial decisions, including the impeccable implementation of the DRS, came when Kumble was chairman of the cricket committee.

Kumble’s decisions were also crucial in determining illegal bowling actions. ICC Chairman Greg Barclay said he appreciated Kumble’s good governance over the past three years.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has taken over the education expenses of tribal children in Madhya Pradesh. The actor has taken over the education expenses of about 560 children. After retiring from international cricket, Tendulkar stepped into the field of social service. As part of this, Tendulkar visited a village in Indore district yesterday to inquire into the social welfare of the children and then inform them that he would take over the education expenses.

Tendulkar’s service is in collaboration with an NGO called Parivar. Tendulkar also said that service cottages would be set up in Sohor, another district in Madhya Pradesh. Tendulkar said he was on track to make his father’s dreams come true and that his father wanted to do something for the education and health of poor children. The cricket legend became a little emotional when he described his father’s dreams. Tendulkar arrived in Madhya Pradesh yesterday to meet Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Tendulkar visited the sister’s school and hostel built by his foundation in collaboration with the Parivar NGO. Tendulkar will pay for the education of tribal children in the villages of Sewania, Bilpati, Khara, Nayapura and Juman Jhel in Sehore district. Tendulkar has built service tombs in 42 villages in the district. Tendulkar was in Dewas and Sevania yesterday to meet children.
