The South Korean Football Association announced on Friday the dismissal of his country’s German national team coach, Jurgen Klinsmann, after their exit from the semi-finals of the Asian Cup in Qatar last week.

The president of the South Korean Football Association (Chung Mong-gyu) said in a press conference to announce the dismissal of the German coach less than a year after signing him: “The Korean Football Association decided to change the national coach after careful consideration.”
Chung added: “Klinsmann failed to demonstrate the managerial and leadership capabilities expected of a national coach in the areas of tactics, personal management, business approach and other areas necessary to achieve the national team’s competitiveness.”
He continued: “Klinsmann’s approach and competitiveness as a coach did not live up to expectations, so we decided to change management before the qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup.”
