FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR — South Sulawesi Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pol Andi Rian Djajadi, gave a firm warning to all his members regarding their involvement in drug trafficking.

This warning comes following the case of the involvement of two members of the Makassar Police in the international drug dealer Fredy Pratama’s network.

Andi Rian Djajadi emphasized that the involvement of police officers in drug trafficking was an unacceptable act and damaged the image of the police institution.

Previously, two members of the Makassar Police were involved in a similar case, which resulted in the postponement of their inauguration as officers.

As is known, the South Sulawesi Regional Police uncovered a case of distributing 30 kg of crystal methamphetamine at the Awerange pier, Soppeng Riaja District, Barru, Wednesday (24/4/2024).

“If there are police involved, I will take firm action,” said Andi Rian, giving a warning.

Regarding the 30 kg of crystal methamphetamine that was seized, Andi Rian paid attention to the Barru Police Chief AKBP Dodik Susianto.

“I ask the Police Chief to be careful in the extermination process,” he said.

Andi Rian emphasized again that if anyone in the community discovers a black market transaction involving drug trafficking, they should report it to the authorities.

“For the public, whether it is true or not, as long as there is photo evidence, report it,” he added.

Andi Rian said, to prevent drug trafficking in South Sulawesi, entry points such as ports and airports must be given strict guard.

“What we need to take care of are the entrance doors. These are used to enter illegal items,” he said. (Muhsin/Fajar)
