Regarding foreign workers affiliated to Spanish social security, their total number rose to 2,683,937 people during the first ten months of 2023, recording an increase of 221,431 active in one year.
Among these foreign workers contributing to Spanish social security, 1,803,951 come from non-EU countries, while 879,986 come from European Union countries.
Likewise, 66,002 Ukrainians are registered with the social security system, which is 18,743 more than in January 2022, i.e. 40% more.
By sector, education accounted for the largest number of employed people (19.3%), along with construction (2.6%) and agriculture (2.7%), while declines were recorded in October in public administration (5.3%) and agriculture, livestock, hunting, forestry and fishing (5.8%).
