Spartan Tennis Earns ITA Academic Honors

East Lansing, Mich., July 22, 2025 — The Michigan State women’s tennis team has been recognized with Division I ITA Academic Team accolades for the 2024-25 season. Seven MSU student-athletes also earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Monday.

Spartans Excel Academically, Earning National Recognition

What makes these athletes stand out? These Spartans showcased impressive academic dedication alongside their athletic pursuits, earning prestigious national honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The honored individuals include freshman Ellie Blackford, juniors Sarah Fazlagic and Issey Purser, redshirt-sophomore Oriana Parkins-Godwin, sophomore Natalie Stasny, and redshirt-sophomore Hanna Tsitavets.

Repeat Honors and New Accolades

For Sarah Fazlagic, this marks her third time receiving the ITA Scholar-Athlete award. Matilde Morais, Issey Purser, and Natalie Stasny were recognized for the second time.

Ellie Blackford, Oriana Parkins-Godwin, and Hanna Tsitavets are first-time recipients of this academic distinction.
