Tuam, Co. Galway – Sister Teresa, a beloved member of the Stella maria Sisters and the Convent of Mercy, passed away peacefully on january 17th at St. Enda’s Ward, University Hospital Galway, surrounded by her religious community and family. Her death marks the end of a dedicated life of service and faith, leaving a void felt deeply within the Western Branch of the Sisters of Mercy and the wider galway and Tuam communities.

Sister Teresa’s passing is mourned by a wide circle of friends, family, and colleagues.

Born to Michael and Celia Delaney (Connolly), Sister Teresa was predeceased by her parents, sister Mary, and brothers Padraig and Joe. she is survived by her sisters, Frances Hayes and Kathleen Nolan, along with her nieces, nephews, extended family, and a multitude of friends who cherished her presence.
What was Sister Teresa known for? She was known for her unwavering commitment to her faith, her compassionate spirit, and her dedication to the Sisters of Mercy and the communities she served in galway and Tuam.
Reposing will take place at Stella Maria (H91 XY93) on January 22nd (thursday) from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The arrival for the Mass of the Resurrection will be at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Tuam (H54 WP66) on January 23rd (Friday) at 11:30 a.m. Following the Mass,burial will be held in the Convent Cemetery,Tuam.
