Kochi: Srikanth Vettiar, a YouTube and movie star, has absconded after a police case was registered against him. Meanwhile, the court recorded the secret statement of a woman from Kollam who had lodged a rape complaint against Vettiar. An investigation is underway into the whereabouts of Srikanth and his friends’ mobile phones.
Ernakulam First Class Judicial Magistrate Court 2 recorded the statement of the girl who was raped. The statement was recorded in detail after completing their medical examination.
It was alleged that Srikanth Vettiar himself was sexually assaulted in a flat in Aluva and later in a hotel room in Kochi when he was called for a birthday party in February last year. The complainant also informed the court of this information. Meanwhile, police said that the accused in the case, Srikanth Vettiar, is absconding. An investigation is underway into the whereabouts of Srikanth and his friends’ mobile phones. Investigators do not rule out the possibility of him leaving Kerala.
Investigators had received information that Srikanth and his friends had made several attempts to dissuade the complainant. The investigation is also focusing on the friends who helped Srikanth in this. Initially, the complainant Srikanth revealed that he was tortured on social media without revealing his identity in any way. The revelation was made through the page ‘Women Against Sexual Harassment’. They later lodged a complaint at Kochi Central Station. Earlier, another Me Too allegation was leveled against Srikanth Vettiar.

I have known Srikanth Vettiar for years through a circle called ICU. Even though I did not speak to him, he was constantly texting me and trying to renew my friendship. From the moment his arranged marriage ended, he began to show me a special kind of care. Pretending to be terribly in love with. He convinced me that I was his best friend. He came and talked to me constantly. I have been told many times that everything is shared only with me. The rupture in the friendship that had been going so well since the night of February 15, 2021. I was invited to celebrate his birthday the next day and was told that there would be two of our mutual friends. He called me at 7 am after work and took me to the Schwaz Aqua City flat in Aluva. It was said that it was the flat of a friend who worked with me on the TV program. But when we got there it was an empty flat where no one was staying. The friend’s husband came and gave her the key and went back. His girlfriend kept calling him until he cut the cake at 12 o’clock. He raped me without my consent and without my permission.
