Kochi: A block division member has been arrested for allegedly defaming Kunnathunadu MLA PV Sreenij on social media. Puthencruz police have arrested Resina Pareeth, a member of Vadavukodu block Wembley division. The action was taken on a complaint that the MLA and Deepu, the Twenty20 Area Secretary who died in the East Coast, had forged pictures of themselves together.
It is alleged that Razina tried to create political tension after Deepu was assaulted in connection with the Twenty20 lighting campaign. A complaint was lodged with the Ambalamed police against Kunnathunadu panchayat member Nisar Ibrahim in connection with a cyber campaign.
A case has been registered in this case as well. Their mobile phones and other belongings were taken into police custody. At the same time, Twenty20 activists claim that the image they are spreading is not a hoax, but an actual one.
