Sri Lanka scored 506 runs in the Dhaka Test with the help of Mathews and Chandimal.
After Bangladesh scored 365 in their first innings, Fernando, Karunaratne and Tananjaya de Silva scored half-centuries for Sri Lanka.
The Mathews-Chandimal pair, who then formed the partnership, added 199 runs. While Silva was on 124, Hossain was bowled out. Shakib Al Hasan and Hossain then sent the next Sri Lankan out.
However on the one hand the wickets were falling but on the other end Mathews stood firm and pulled. Asita Fernando was run out for the last wicket of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan team was all out for 506 runs. Matthews, who was on the field until the last, took 145 runs. Shakib Al Hasan took 5 wickets and Abbott Hossain took 4 wickets for Bangladesh.

With Bangladesh trailing by 107 runs so far, Sri Lanka have a chance to win the innings if they take the remaining wickets on the final day tomorrow.
