This has created a crisis for the ruling Mahinda Rajapaksa-led government in Sri Lanka. Arrangements for the formation of a new interim government have also begun.

Mahinda denies

But Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s opinion contradicts President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s statement. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said, “I will not resign as Prime Minister. Even if a new government is formed, the government should be under my leadership, ”he said.

Economic problem

But the people have been waging daily protests against President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, claiming that they have ruined the country’s economy. The Rajapaksa family is facing a severe crisis and pressure in this struggle.

Sri Lanka is facing an unprecedented economic crisis since independence in 1948. The Sri Lankan government does not even have the foreign exchange reserves required to import any goods from abroad. Therefore, the Government of Sri Lanka continues to seek assistance from the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, India and China

No foreign exchange

The ongoing struggle by the people has exacerbated the crisis in Sri Lanka between the ruling government and President Rajapaksa. Following this, he decided to form an all-party government. The Election Commission has called on the representatives of all parties to hold consultations in this regard tomorrow.

People turmoil

The popular struggle has intensified, demanding that the Rajapakse family secede from the Sri Lankan government. People on the other hand are waiting in long queues for essentials, cooking gas and kerosene. People are boiled by electricity for 13 hours daily.
