DOBBIACO. Last night the soldiers of the Radiomobile Division of the Carabinieri Company of San Candido arrested a Kosovar citizen affected by a measure restricting personal freedom issued by the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic at the Court of Appeal of Bolzano for crimes relating to “stalking”committed way back in 2013.
The sixty-year-old, who is also affected by other and more serious criminal records, including the attempted murder of his son and mistreatment in the familyalthough resident in the province of Bolzano, had already been untraceable since 2020, losing track of himself, when the Bolzano Criminal Enforcement Office reinstated the detention order to make him serve a one-year prison sentence.
The man, probably having gone abroad to escape detection, had in fact become a fugitive, even if last night, the car in which he had just returned to Italy had not gone unnoticed by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile of San Candido, in patrolling transit in the municipality of Dobbiaco, who had decided to chase it and stop it to identify the driver. The man driving the car had not resisted the control, showing, at the request of the military personnel, his identity documents and thus allowing him to be fully identified.
The subsequent verification of the name in the police force database then confirmed the pending charge on the arrested person’s account, who, once accompanied to the barracks and the ritual procedures completed, was declared under arrest and transported to the Bolzano prison. .
According to an initial reconstruction of the facts, the man had returned to his country of origin to stay with his family since 2020 and in recent days, for reasons not yet known, he had decided to return to Italy.
