Vienna – On Thursday evening Austria’s most valuable journalist prize, the Prälat Leopold Ungar Prize for socially committed journalism, was awarded for the 18th time. STANDARD editor Gerald John was awarded the main prize in the print category for his report “Stich ins Herz einer Arbeiterstadt”, which deals with the truck plant in Steyr, which is threatened with closure. Philip Bauer, head of the sports department at STANDARD, received for “Thank you, Lisa!” the recognition award in the online / multimedia area.
