Spotify has now also raised its prices – much to the delight of Universal, Sony and Warner Music. The next increases are already being requested – and there are also clear wishes for a new streaming model.

It’s even harder to get past Taylor Swift these days than it was when there were no concerts. The hustle and bustle surrounding their “Eras Tour” is so huge. It all started with the chaotic advance ticket sales in the USA, ranging from analyzes of the potential effects on the local economy at the tour stops to hefty bonus payments for your crew. Swift is said to have distributed a total of $55 million at the end of the first series of US shows. It is a foregone conclusion that the stand will now bring in well over a billion dollars in ticket revenue from a total of 146 concerts.

All this should also be observed with the largest music company in the world only too gladly. Universal Music is the label and publishing partner of the 33-year-old musician and is also on board when it comes to selling fan articles. Swift’s recordings were – not surprisingly – one of the sales drivers in the first half of this year, as Universal underlined at the end of July when the figures were presented.
