Mumbai: Today (Wednesday) trading in the Mumbai Stock Exchange started with a boom. The Sensex rose 180 points to 57,794 in early trade. Similarly, the Nifty rose 58 points to 17,009 on the national bourse.
The stock markets started trading on a positive note on Wednesday. As of 10:20 am, the Sensex was up 186.67 points at 57,800.39. The Nifty rose 57.40 points to 17,009.10 on the national bourse.
Indian equities opened the trade on a positive note today amid mixed conditions in global markets and monthly F&O expiry.
In terms of individual stocks, M&M, Ultra Tech Cement, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, L&T, Hindustan Unilever, NTPC, Nestlé India and HDFC were the gainers. Shares of Reliance Industries, IndusInd Bank, Tata Steel, Asian Paints and Infosys were in decline.
