Stocks and Green base price 2 crores; Mayank and Manish Pandey ahead of Indians – IPL 2023

MUMBAI: The shortlist of players participating in the IPL auction has been published. A total of 405 stars are up for auction. A total of 991 players were registered for the auction for the 2023 IPL season. Out of this, 405 people have been shortlisted by 10 teams. A maximum of 87 players, including 30 foreign players, will get a chance in the IPL. The auction will be held in Kochi on December 23.

Out of 405 players in the list, 273 are Indians and 132 are foreign players. 119 of the bidders have played international cricket. 282 are yet to debut. 27 players are from England including Ben Stokes and Joe Root. All-rounder Cameron Green is also in the 21-man squad from Australia. 22 from South Africa, 20 from West Indies, 10 from New Zealand and eight from Afghanistan.

10 stars from Kerala also made it to the list. Rohan Kunnummal, Mohammad Azharuddin, KM Asif, S. Mithun, Sachin Baby, Shaun Roger, Vishnu Vinod, Basil Thampi, Vysakh Chandran and PA Abdul are the Malayalis in the list.

None of the Indian players are among those who have to pay the highest base price of Rs 2 crore in the auction. 19 foreign players are in the 2 crore list. 1.5 crore base price and only 11 foreign players. There are two Indian players with a base price of Rs 1 crore – Mayank Agarwal and Manish Pandey. A total of 20 stars are in the one crore list. Ajinkya Rahane and Ishant Sharma’s base price is 50 lakhs.
