Storms in India leave at least 21 dead in the state of Uttar Pradesh

At least 21 people have died in the state of Uttar Pradesh, in the north of Indiaby a storm that has hit the area with lightning and torrential rains.

Lightning has caused the death of four people, while 15 have died from the rains and two from drowning, according to the ‘Times of India’ newspaper.

The storm has forced some schools to close and caused roof collapses and flooding. In addition, train circulation has been affected by flooding of tracks. The authorities have indicated that moderate rains are expected during the day on Tuesday, although the intensity will decrease throughout the state starting on Wednesday.
