A 26-year-old Afghan asylum seeker was indicted in Strasbourg for the rape of a minor and for three sexual assaults, including two also on minors. The facts would have occurred in swimming pools, according to the prosecution.

This man, unknown until then to justice, is suspected of having raped last May, in the swimming pool of Lingolsheim (Bas-Rhin), near Strasbourg, a 15-year-old girl, slightly disabled. He would also have engaged this Saturday, July 8, in touching two 12-year-old minors and a woman in her forties in a pool of a Strasbourg swimming pool.

Pretrial detention required

He was indicted for “rape of a vulnerable person” and for “sexual assault”, in particular on “15-year-old minors” for the facts concerning the two teenagers. These last two are at the origin of the arrest of the suspect. Immediately after the alleged facts, they warned the lifeguard who immediately closed the pool, blocking the young man in the building.

The prosecution also requested his placement in pre-trial detention, specifies the prosecution.
