Nadiya Bychkova Hospitalized After Rehearsal Fall as ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Lineup Expands

A precautionary hospital visit for Nadiya Bychkova following a fall during rehearsals cast a shadow over preparations for the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing, even as the BBC unveiled a fresh batch of celebrity contestants. The incident occurred on Tuesday,August 12,in north London,prompting an immediate response from the show’s medical team.

“As a precaution, following a fall during rehearsals, Nadiya was taken to hospital for checks and is receiving full support from medical and welfare teams,” the source said. “Rehearsals continue and the Strictly team are in close contact with Nadiya.” It is understood that Bychkova has since been discharged after undergoing several hours of testing.

The London Ambulance Service confirmed responding to an incident on Regent’s Park Road at 12:37 PM on Tuesday. “We sent an ambulance crew to the scene and treated one person before taking them to hospital,” a spokesperson said.

The news of Bychkova’s injury arrived alongside the proclamation of several new faces joining the Strictly competition. The latest additions to the lineup include YouTube personality George Clarke, known online as George Clarkey, EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal, Love Island winner Dani Dyer, Gladiators star Harry aikines-Aryeetey, Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston, and former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

clarke expressed both excitement and trepidation about his participation. “Never thought I’d say this … but I’m doing Strictly! Honestly,I’ve got no idea what I’m doing but I’m excited to get stuck in … and perhaps fall over a fair bit,” he said.

Sopal described being cast on the show as a long-held aspiration. “Being on Strictly is a dream that I held on to, with no proof that it would ever happen,” she shared during a live segment on ITV’s Good Morning Britain filmed at Albert Square.

Dyer, the daughter of actor Danny Dyer, emphasized the show’s appeal. “It’s such a fun magical show – to be asked to do it is indeed such an honor. I just can’t wait to be able to wear (the costumes) – it’s going to be so much fun,” she stated on The One Show.

Hasselbaink revealed that Strictly is a family tradition.”I’m a father of onyl girls and Strictly is a part of our home life – I like the show. Let’s have a go,” he commented.

Kingston, who paused her Italian vacation for the announcement, jokingly admitted to feeling “super excited but now I’m terrified.” Aikines-Aryeetey,having previously competed in the strictly christmas Special,said returning to the main competition felt “so nice I just had to do it twice.”

The BBC previously announced the addition of two new professional dancers to the show: US-born Alexis Warr and Australian dancer Julian Caillon.Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will return as hosts, alongside judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Shirley Ballas.

Strictly Come Dancing is slated to return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September.
